Description
the following pics are taken from my sketchbook portfolio which is for concept design. which is Part of my course. The idea was was to take an original text and change it and had to pitch it to the rest of my group. My text was the pirate Adventure Treasure Island, but here its gonna be modenized, set right now instead of the 17th century. I'll take you through each character starting with the modanized version of jim.
Jims the hero of the story and he starts off as a poor lad working in his uncles rundown pub-The admiral Benbow off the coast of Southend-on-sea. Business is poor as its a place for vagabonds and thieves. Things changed however, when an old Sailor by the Name of Billy Bones comes in and tells the tale of the notorious pirate Flint and his treasure.
Apparently Bill is being hunted by the Black spot gang led by Crime lord Blind pew who gives him his calling card. Billy gives Jim the map to flints treasure and flees the pub before Pew and his gang arrives.
Jim takes the map to a friendly museum curator Prof.John Trelawney who is fasinated in finding the lost treasure and decides to put together an expdition to the island and Jim gets to tag along with him. The set sail on the freighter ship Hispaniola commandeered by Jane smollett with a motely crew. Jim makes friends with the cook John Silver who is in fact an villinous pirate.
When they reached the island, Silver kidnaps Jim and forces Jim to find the treasure with his men, but Jim makes a getaway. He then makes friends with deranged Australian, Brucie Gunn, a castaway who found Flints Treasure before them.
Brucie agrees to help Jim find the treasure and reunite them with his friends.
Unknownst to them, Smollett and Trewlaney confronted Silver and his crew and a gunfight ensures. the good guys win and the pirates surrenders. Brucie then leads the gang to the treasure. On the way back, Jim finds that Silver has escaped from the brig, along with a speedboat and part of the treasure but in the end, Jim comes home as a rich lad.
